During camp, when campers do something special, perform well or help out, they are sometimes rewarded with a coupon. For a redemption list, click here.

How can I get coupons?

Coupons are given every day at camp for participating in our activities. In addition, each staff has extra coupons to give to campers every day when they see nice gestures, comments or positive things that campers do. Therefore each tennis instructor, soccer instructor, pool staff, counselor and even the club manager has coupons to give each camper!

Do you have a referral program and how can I save some money?

Yes, we do have a referral program in which you can save up to $100.  It's called refer-a-friend.  More information can be seen by clicking here.  In addition, the most popular way of getting even more coupons is through our referral program.  Coupons are given for referrals to anyone that joins our camp for one or more weeks, pays regular price and that have not been in our program. Coupons are not given if you refer your own sibling(s). You get 20 coupons for each referral and there are no limits to the number of referrals one can receive. Click coupons to find out what you can get with the coupons.

We also have another way in which you can save money if you want to register for camp and have a group of people. It is based on Steven Covey's win-win strategy. You can save up to $50 per week of camp. More info.

Otherwise, running shoes with flat soled shoes can work (no baskeball or soccer shoes or sandals). In addition, boys and girls are encouraged to wear tennis tops and bottoms (shorts with a pocket to put in a tennis ball). Although white is recommended, solid colours are permitted. You may purchase shoes and other tennis items at our boutique but check first for availability by sending us an email. No jeans, torn clothes or bermuda shorts are allowed. The shirt can have a small logo or decal but no wording should be on it. Boys shirts should have sleeves.

Once you cancel your booking, re-register to the week or location of your choice. When asked why would you like to cancel the camp registration, just write switching weeks. Then, re-register for the new camp week. If there is a balance to pay, you can do it by going to our home page and clicking on option #9 make a payment or by clicking here

You can also, or alternatively, send us an email to info@tspa.ca. Make sure you get a confirmation reply.

How can I pay for the switch?

You will get a confirmation email and screen with a new invoice. You can make the payment online (what a video that will help you with this process) or by sending us a cheque. In the memo section please write down your child's name, the word "switch" and then the camp location (CTC or CSLTC). Once the cheque is deposited, this will confirm that everything is in order.

What is involved in sports psychology workshops?

Camp offers sports psychology workshops at least once a week in which the campers work on building mental skills off the court that are directly related to the physical skills on the court. You can look at some examples of titles of specific exercises that are done by clicking here. This is often done for up to one hour. During these workshops, the campers work on highlights (best part of their days, life or focus on the positive aspects of their lives) as well as develop specific mental skills such as focus, attitude, motivation or become more optimistic. The idea stems from Lior Doron's masters thesis (read it) and from his Graduate Diploma thesis (read it). This is quite useful as an athlete in their sport as well as as a person in life. If they say, sports psychology is at least 80% of the game, then here at the Tennis and Sports Psychology Academy, we work on it! For private consulting in sports psychology, click here for a free initial consultation or here for our most popular package.

Wouldn't it be better to have my child do more tennis or be active than the sports psychology workshops?

Campers enjoy up to three hours of tennis instruction per day. In addition to this they also have an opportunity to play field games such as soccer (which is the most popular). Working on mental skills is a time to unwind, relax and improve their physical game by reinforcing and building mental toughness. These skills are not only useful on the courts but also in life. Building mental skills is extremely important especially at a young age. By developing and reinforcing life strategies will only improve your child's self-esteem, confidence and positive thinking. We believe this service to be extremely important and are proud to deliver this!

What qualifications does Lior Doron have in running TSPA, camp and the tennis academy?

Besides having a specialization degree in psychology, Lior obtained a graduate diploma from the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University. This helped him get a grasp over all the administrative work required in running a great academy. Furthermore, he earned a Masters Degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in sports psychology specifically. This highly specialized degree allows Lior to work as a sports psychology coach and train younger aspiring athletes as to the specific techniques used by professional athletes. TSPA has operated since 2007 and Lior has accumulated lots of knowledge working in Club Med as a tennis instructor and Royal Caribbean Cruise Line where over 1000 junior cruisers were being entertained each week. All this helps create the best possible experience for your camper. Finally, Lior has over 20 years experience within high schools and understands what it takes to run a successful academy.

What is the cost of registration for camp?

Why should I register early?

Our camp has a limited number of spots available and we`ve had weeks in which we were full.

I've been told that I'm on the waiting list; what does that mean?

The week that you have chosen in full. If there is a cancellation, we will call you and let you know. Next time, however, it is a good idea to register your child before April 1st. You may want to consider reserving your spot even earlier. Please note that we have several locations so you might want to choose another location.

Can I cancel registration?

Yes, you can cancel your registration but you must let us know before 8am the day of the camp session. At that point, you will receive either: 1) a refund of what you have paid less a $50 administrative fee OR, 2) a credit to the full amount that you have paid toward a future TSPA activity (i.e., camp, clinics or tournaments). There will be no refund if you cancel your child’s enrolment after the camp week has started (after 8am) on the first weekday of camp.

Do you offer any refunds if my child misses one or more days of camp?

No, there are no refund or partial refund if your child misses one or more days of an activity.

Do you offer financing or the ability to spread your payments over a few months, and if so, what percentage interest do you charge?

Yes, we do offer financing and our rate is 0%! Just ask us to finance your payment and either we'll send you a link that will automatically bill your credit card every month or you can send us post dated cheques. You can spread your payments either two months for three payments or three months for four payments. For example,  you owe $1000 and choose to spread your payments over three months with four payments. Provide us a cheque for $250 using today's date and three other cheques one month later.

How can I pay?

We accept cash, cheques or online payments. Click here to see a video of how to make a payment online.  Please keep in mind that we work on a 1st come 1st serve basis and many of our weeks are full. Please get your payment to us as soon as possible to guarantee a spot for your child. Just because you have sent us a cheque or paid online does not guarantee that you have a spot reserved. You can expect to be contacted within 48 hours if there is no more room for your child. You may pay with the following;

Cash: You can come to the club and make your payment. However, you should call 1st call514-886-9929 to make an appointment especially if the club is not open yet (prior to May 15th).

ChequePlease make your cheque payable to TSPA Inc. You can send it via mail or come to the club.

Online: We also take online payments and accept all major credit cards on our payment page.

When should I make the payment?

Payments should be received at least four weeks prior to your camper's enrollment in our program. If you are registering a camper within four weeks of your child's participation, then payment should be done as soon as possible. Keep in mind that many weeks are full and that is why it is good to make your payment early and guarantee a spot for your child.

What pool do the campers go to?

At the Caldwell Tennis Courts, the new aquatic facility is just across the street and campers also use the pool at the Côte Saint-Luc Tennis Club. And yes, they are supervised as they cross the street and in the pool :)

I am worried. Are there lifeguards on duty at the pool?

Yes, there are lifeguards on duty at the pool at all times. In addition to the lifeguards, there are always TSPA tennis instructors and counselors that accompany the kids to make sure they are happy, having a good time and are safe. We also do a swim test to identify campers who do not know how to swim. If this is the case, we have a maximum of three campers to one staff who are always at a arm's length away making sure they are safe and sound yet still enjoying the idea of swiming in a pool. It is worth noting that at the ACC, there is a wading pool in which younger campers who do not know how to swim choose to go there.

Is the camp peanut free?

No. Although we suggest that no one brings peanut related products to camp, we cannot control this. Therefore, please do not to bring any peanuts to camp. This is in our recommended checklist and we try and make sure no one brings any peanut related foods to camp. We are aware some campers can have a severe allergy or reaction so we enforce no peanuts at camp.

What happens if it rains?

If it rains, in CSL we have access to the Wagar High School.  Inside there is an indoor gym where we can play mini-tennis and other sports, as well as a cafeteria.  We can still go outside and play soccer later, work on sports psychology, play games, run chess tournaments, ping pong tournaments or other various fun activities. Another very popular activity of ours is "soccer tennis."

Do you offer camp registration for less than one week?

Yes, we offer registration for less than one week. Registration can be done per day and even for a half day. Half day registration is either in the morning (9:00-12:00) or in the afternoon from 13:00-16:00. Please note that lunch is from 12:00 - 13:00 which includes half an hour of free time. For the Tennis Max program (more info), registration for half days is only available within one week of the start of the camp. All other camps, half day registration is available. Unfortunately, many of the weeks are full and therefore you will be put on a waiting list. You will get a confirmation at the latest Sunday evening or the night before.

I have a teen. Do you have a program for them?

You can enjoy TSPA services for reduced rates (member rates vs. non-member rates) as well as enjoy club only related activities such as socials, round robins and much more. Is there a fridge or stove that campers can use to cool or warm up their food?

The club has a fridge and oven that campers can use. However, it is often much easier and it is highly recommended that you keep your child's lunch simple - usually sandwiches. Often campers freeze up their water bottles the night before coming to camp and bring it to them at camp. They may also keep their water bottles cold in the fridge. Make sure your child has a visible label on their belongings.

AFTER CAMP

I love the camp, how can I share this with others?

You are not alone. TSPA features hundreds of satisfied clients every week throughout it's many camps. You can let us know through our social media links or simply let the camp director know. We also offer a weekly feedback form in which you can voice your pleasure :)

I am not satisfied with the service and/or would like my money back.

This does happen from time-to-time. Please fill out this form

CLINICS

How are your groups organized?

We primarily oranize our classes by age and skill level although skill level is more important. For example, if there is a junior class for 5-8 years old for a skill level of 1.0-1.9 and there is a child that is 7 years but has a skill level of 2.0-2.4, then the child should enroll in the 9-12 year old class in which the skill level is 1.5-2.4.

I am the only person enrolled in the clinic. Does this mean it is postponed? Will I get a phone call, text or email to confirm this?

If you are the only person enrolled in a clinic, it is postponed. Although we love to communicate with our clients, when you login and click "Clinics" and their locations, you can see for yourself that you are the only person enrolled with the number one as the first digit in the fraction (such as 1/6 or 1/5 etc.). This is our way of telling you to sign up for another class. Don't worry, you will not lose this session. You will then get an email confirmation that your lesson has been cancelled.

Do you have a weekly theme for every clinic?

Yes, we have weekly themes. You can see them by clicking here

I got an email confirming my clinic, does this mean it is on for sure?

No, that is an automated email. Please make sure there are at least 2 people registered for the clinic two hours before the lesson.

I would like to play before or after the lesson. How much would it cost?

It depends on the location: Caldwell Tennis Courts: free, Côte Saint-Luc Tennis Club: $12 non-member fee applicable for adults, $6 Jr. fee (17 and under).

If it rains will I lose my clinic?

No. Don't be silly.

What if it rains during the clinic?

If you have played less then half of the clinic then you will get a full refund. If you have played more then half but have not completed the clinic, you will only be charged half the clinic and get a refund of the other half.

We are two or more people that want lessons? Can we combine the lessons into one account?

Yes, if they all live in the same home and are family. However, clearly put the full names of the people registering for the lessons.

I took or am interested in taking a lesson in one location. Can I also take them in another location?

Yes.

Do you have a weekly theme for the lessons?

Yes, you can seem them by clicking here

How do I cancel my lesson?

Login from our site at the top of the page with your email and password and then choose the date and time you would like to cancel. Click the edit button and then delete the reservation. Please note we need at least 24 hours notice to avoid losing the full session fee. Please cancel even if it is within 24 hours for your fellow players and your tennis instructor

Is there an experiation date of the clinics?

Yes, all lessons purchased must be consumed during the same calendar year. The expression use them or lose them applies :)

How can I pay for my clinics?

You need to purchase credits for the lessons. Click here to add credits to your account.
