Pro in Training (PIT) and Counselor in Training (CIT)

The PIT and CIT program are classified into three levels depending on the experience of the candidate: 1 or 2 or 3. 

PIT / CIT 1: The cost for the PIT1 or CIT1 program is is $200 per week for those who are 16 as of September 30th and or have limited experience.

PIT / CIT 2 For those who are 17 and over as of September 30, the PIT2 or 3 or CIT2 or 3 is $175 per week.

PIT / CIT 3: For those who are enrolled in the PIT3, the cost is $175 per week but in this case the candidate only needs to pay for the 1st two weeks. Most candidates go from a PIT 2 to working officially for TSPA but others who need an extra two weeks of training or who are a little older can be asked to do the PIT / CIT 3 training.

When Does the CIT / PIT get Paid?

Once the candidate has completed two weeks or completed 80 hours of training, then have the ability to earn income.

Other Fees / Potential Costs:

- Membership at the club is required. It is $60 per week for a maximum of two weeks.

- All TSPA staff receive one shirt for free. All other shirts cost $30. Most PIT's or CIT's get 2 or 3 shirts.

- Lunch from Solleys is available. It is $20 for the week. Click here to see the menu. Remember, you can replace a sandwhich with turkey. If you are hired, please let us know as soon as possible your lunch preference such as big sandwhich all week or big sandwhich all week but replace Wed (with a turkey sandwhich). This must be done by Wednesday for the following camp week.

Procedures .

Step 1) Make sure you read and understand the formal documentation about the program by clicking here.

Step 2) Use this register now link. Make sure you mention how many shirts you would like (1st one is free) and if you would like the Solley's lunch and mention any replacement sandwhiches i.e. replace Tuesday.

Step 3) Send us your curriculum vitae (c.v.). along with a cover letter. In the cover letter describe why you would like to join TSPA, what makes you an ideal candidate and your experience so far with children.Please also mention any citizenship hours that you have done within your school and any volunteer experience that you may have. Please attach proof if possible. 

Step 4) Please send up to two letters of references in support of your application. These letters should be by either a teacher, someone you have worked or volunteered from or someone who knows you very well. Please avoid family references. 

Step 5) If you have completed all of the above and you are choosen for an interview, we will contact you. Make sure you bring with you your social insurance card. Click here for information on how to get one.

Step 6) Once successful, please make the payment as it works on a 1st come 1st serve basis and spaces are limited.
