Dear visitor,

                                                                                                                                                                                     April 8, 2019

The season has certainly started with a racket! Our younger Canadian talent has led the way in California and most recently in Miami. The tennis scene is promising after the winning performance of Bianca Andreescu and semi-final showcase of Denis Shapovalov and Felix Auger-Aliassime. The future is bright for tennis and it goes to show it can happen as early as 18 years old! We are pleased to be back for our 15th season (although I have been teaching tennis for over 25 years).

The board of directors at the Woodland Tennis Club in Verdun, after seven consecutive years, has awarded another camp operator the ability to offer tennis services over there. As a result, TSPA will simply focus our efforts back to our roots in Côte Saint-Luc!

Towards the end of last season, I was pleased to be on the radio with CJAD's morning show host Andrew Carter discussing mental skills training (listen). The next day, I was asked to speak on television with Paul Karwatsky about dealing with pressure on the CTV local news (watch the video). I feel privileged to champion and teach positive living skills not only to children but also to adults so that performance can be improved. There are many mental strategies that can be honed to improve performance which can be helpful both on and off the court.  I shared the 12 mental skills associated with athletic excellence. I met with Côte Saint-Luc city officials and the planning is well under way to ensure an enjoyable experience for all our clients within the beautiful city of Côte Saint-Luc.

In the last few months, I have been hired as a gym teacher in an elementary school and guess which sport I have been teaching? You guessed it - tennis! The experience makes me realize that most elementary school and high school students for that matter can spend their entire academic career without playing any tennis during their physical education periods. Take a look at some of the pictures including a very sweet card I received and our latest family addition (show me). If tennis is my summer sport, hockey is my winter sport. Although I mostly referee ice-hockey (see picture with the Montreal Canadiens), I was pleased to chip in as a mental skills coach in helping give an emotional edge to players  (listen to it) who eventually won the gold metal game in their category.

On behalf of the entire team, we look forward "serving you" once again this season! Take a few moments to read over all our specials for this season.

Camp Update:
We are the #1 tennis camp in Montreal for a reason. Besides getting back between 26-60% and up to $4000 can be claimed in tax credits, the TSPA camp experience is second to none (download our brochure). As you know we have two types of camp: our recreational and high performance "Tennis Max" camp. For our recreational camp, there will be much less travel between the Caldwell Tennis Courts and the Côte Saint-Luc Tennis Club during the second half of the day  The Caldwell campers will stay at Caldwell for the entire day and enjoy the large Wagar gym, newly renovated outdoor pool (we have an additional 15 minutes of pool time) and of course the Caldwell Tennis Courts.  For those registered at the Côte Saint-Luc Tennis Club (TennisMax), the campers will stay at the Club for the entire day.  Generally, drop-off and pick-up for Caldwell campers will be at the Caldwell Tennis Courts (except perhaps week 9), while drop-off and pick-up for TennisMax campers will be at the Tennis Club. View our highlight video and when you see me on the courts let me know you saw it in order to get one coupon. If you like it, share it and subscribe to our channel, I'll double the offer! When you register for camp, make sure you choose the right location; CTC for the Caldwell Tennis Courts and CSLTC for the Côte Saint-Luc Tennis Club.

Due to medical reasons, Dominic will not be starting the season as camp director. We hope that he has a speedy recovery for his minor surgery in early June.  In the meantime, we thank him dearly for his years of service with TSPA. I will serve as the camp director at Caldwell until we hire a suitable replacement. We are pleased to still offer four field trips this summer (more info) and a 0% financing offer in which you can spread your payments in up to six installments.
