What is involved in sports psychology workshops?

Camp offers sports psychology workshops about twice a week in which the campers work on building mental skills off the court that are directly related to the physical skills on the court. You can look at some examples of titles of specific exercises that are done by clicking here. This is often done for about one hour. During these workshops, the campers work on highlights (best part of their days, life or focus on the positive aspects of their lives) as well as develop specific mental skills such as focus, attitude, motivation or become more optimistic. This is quite useful as an athlete in their sport as well as as a person in life.

Wouldn't it be better to have my child do more tennis or be active than the sports psychology workshops?

Campers enjoy up to three hours of tennis instruction per day. In addition to this they also have an opportunity to play field games such as soccer (which is the most popular). Working on mental skills is a time to unwind, relax and improve their physical game by reinforcing and building mental toughness. These skills are not only useful on the courts but also in life. Building mental skills is extremely important especially at a young age. By developing and reinforcing life strategies will only improve your child's self-esteem, confidence and positive thinking. We believe this service to be extremely important and are proud to deliver this!

As of 2009 tax year, you are able to deduct $175 for every week that your child attends camp for children born after December 31, 2002 and $100 for children born before. The maximum age that this can be applied to is 16 as of December 31st.

There was a mistake on the 2009 releve 24. What should I do?

Please note for those who registered with us last year (in 2009), please note that you may claim the full amount that was paid to us in box C on the releve 24 that was issued to you. Therefore, if you submit your tax receipts online, in box E, you should claim the full amount rather then a partial amount that was given to you. If you send your releve 24, then please send us back the form and we will be pleased to make the correction for you with our initials and send it back to you as soon as possible. We apologize for the error and any inconvenience this may have caused. We have received conflicting messages when communicating with Quebec government officials regarding this tax refund. Interestingly, it comes out to a tax refund of at least 26% to 60% depending on your family income and this up to $4,000 related to camp fees from the provincial side and, 15% up to $500 paid on camp fees on the federal side.
